I recently discovered a few photos from the past. They will confirm the fact that I actually did teach Elementary School, including music, in Ina, Illinois, my home village of some 300 souls.
I was also a basketball coach. I actually and proudly won the "Coach of the Year Honors given by Eddie Allen's Barber Shop in Mt. Vernon. The inscription read,
"My Sin; One Win: Losing est Coach of the Year".

But the big boy went on to play some semi-pro ball - you must have done something right! The pics bring good memories and I see several once familiar faces, but where-o-where are they now?
These photos were taken in about 1961 so they all have gone on to rear families and do fairly well in life. Gary Jones played ball in high school and got a full ride at LSU I think to play basketball. I loved those kids and put everything I had into teaching and coaching. I actually learned how to teach and how to disciple by getting learners involved in groups from those early years.
