Music to Drive us Mild or Wild

Music sets the mood and may also change your mind. Read this article in the paper, ScotlandonSunday to see what I mean.

Music can torture or heal. Did you know the US Army has a list of the "Golden Oldies" that dive terrorists to spill their guts? They also have lists of music than can help calm an unquiet mind and even help kids with Asperber's Syndrome. Now that is something.

Read the article and see what you think. (But stop listening to Acid Rock before you write your comments.)

hmmm! That has got me to thinking. Barry Manilow would drive me nuts as well. I am quite a music lover, have loads of music on my ipod, and listen to music quite a lot. However I always think that I use music by the songs that I schedule to listen to on my ipod to reinforce my mood, not set it. To actually see it as something to heal and in my case to actually set the mood? Something to ponder.

I have been listening to Handle's Messiah recently and it calmes me down. I listened to it in 1994 when I was in deep depression and it was healing. It was one of the very few things that blessed me during that stage of anger.

Right after Handle comes a series of prsies songs and I noticed my mood changed as they played on the iPod.
